The funny thing about fate is that is doesn’t need a reason. For those who are played by it, they often find themselves questioning it. How did it happen? Why were they late that day? Who needed to know that small bit of information about them?
What had possessed Captain to wander away from her normal surroundings still remains a mystery. But the fact of the matter is that she met a red Toki who changed her outlook on life. Roamer, a name fitting for a creature much like herself, had shown her unbridled enthusiasm unlike any she had ever known before.
Of course, she wasn’t keen to opening up t

“What the hell are you two doing?”
Jesse and Captain had gone into the town to do a little bit of Trick-or-Treating for Tokoween. They were dressed as a Tokotaur in disguise, with Captain wearing a patchwork hood, and Jesse wearing a pair of patchwork pants. As they stepped out of the trees that separated the Kesuk Bay from the trail leading to the village, they stopped.
James was standing in front of Mano, trying to convince the Dire to wear the thing he held in his hands. He was wearing his own pair of patchwork pants, and when he turned around to see who he was talking to, the hood in his h

The Town's Tokoween Treats
As Captain and Jesse made their way through the town, they stopped to sample some of the local decorations. In the center of the town, the folk had gathered their wears and proudly put them on display. Many of the stalls were filled with food, but some of them had costumes and decorations.
Jesse asked for a small cartful of goodies to be sent to the ship. He ordered dozens of pies, cakes, candies apples, roasted chickens, and other seasonal treats. He also had blankets and socks sent up – even though they were fall themed, he knew they would be warm enough for the winter on the open waters.

Tokoween in the Town
As Jesse and Captain said thanks and goodbye to Talulla, they continued on their way to the town. The sun had started to set, so their forms cast long shadows over the dirt path. Captain stumbled once, but quickly pulled herself together without throwing Jesse off. She whined a little to let him know she was a little shaken up, but wagged her tail to let him know she was okay.
As they entered the town, they were met with plenty of smiles and laughs. Kids came up to them to ask about their costumes, and parents even stopped to admire the “handiwork” of the sewing. Captain and Jesse were quickly caught up i
“Captain, what do you want to be for Tokoween?” Jesse sat at his desk on the Abyssal Siren, his feet kicked up to rest on the edge of the wood. He had heard about the Tokoween festivals taking place in the nearby villages and with some of the wild Tokotas. He didn’t want her to miss out, so he had the crew decorate the ship with bats and fake cobwebs.
Captain tipped her head to the side, sitting on the other side of the desk. She really hadn’t thought about it, and had only heard a few rumors from the crew and the villagers when they went. She thumped her tail on the floor beneath her, the idea

“Before we keep going, we should stop for some food!” Albion wagged his tail lightly, hoping he would appeal to the natural side of Skoll and Blue. No matter how angry they wanted to be, they were still animals that needed to eat. And if they had been lost, then they surely needed some energy to keep going. It seemed like the most natural solution.
Theo peeped his head out of the water of the nearby pond. He had heard the other Tokotas when they first met, but he didn’t think he needed to pay them attention. Once the white one called Albion suggested food, he knew immediately where they were going t

A Festival of Fall [WQ]
Jesse walked silently with Captain through the Harvest Festival. He had convinced her it would be good to go out and just have some fun, the two of them. He had always missed the festival in the past, and wanted to seize the moment now that he was actually on land for it.
“Come on, Captain, we should dress up!” Jesse begged the Tokota, holding up a few silly outfits he had somehow amassed over the years. He just wanted to fit in to the enjoyment, and knew he would be out of place if he showed up as himself.
She shook her head, not wanting to disappoint him, but to let him know that she wasn

Albion walked around in the edge of the Kesuk Bay, having recently said goodbye to Captain, Jesse, and Nakait. The three Tokotas had decided that it was time to return to their packs for the winter. Summer had turned to fall, and the chill in the air threatened all of Tokotna with winter.
At the edge of the Bay, just as Albion entered the trees, two large figures appeared in the distance. Both were roughly the size of Dires; one of them was white, while the other was blue. The white one walked faster than the blue one, and held themselves higher as well. There was something about their dynamics that hinted at a power
“We should probably start stocking up for winter, don’t you think?”
Jesse sat on the deck of the Abyssal Siren with Captain, Nakait, and Albion, the day after they had had their farewell to summer bash. The crew was still deep inland, doing their usual barters. That left the four of them to watch the ship, and try to find ways to entertain themselves.
“Well, I know winter’s not coming for a while, but wouldn’t it be wise to start preparing now?” Jesse sat just in front of Captain, leaning back against her side as she laid on her stomach and tried to sleep. “
